Creamy Irish Oatmeal

Irish oats, also known as steel-cut oats, are a type of oatmeal that is made by chopping the oat groats into small pieces with a steel blade. It is a great source of fiber, proteins, and vitamins.

It has a nuttier texture and flavor. To prepare this delicious breakfast, you will need 1 ½ cups of steel-cut oats, 3 cups of water, 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk or whole milk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of honey. 

In a large saucepan, combine the water, almond milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Add oats and stir constantly until the oats absorb some liquid and soften. Cook for a few more minutes, add nuts and seeds, and your sweet breakfast is ready.

Naturally, gluten-free flour made from ground oats is low in fat and contains iron and B vitamins. It has a slightly sweet and nutty flavor and is softer in texture than wheat flour. For the recipe, you will need 1 ½ cups of oat flour, 1 egg, 1 cup of milk or non-dairy milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix everything to a batter, and start making pancakes in a pan. Once ready, drizzle some honey or maple syrup on top with the combination of nuts and fresh fruits.
