Improve your Ramzan sleep habits with these 7 effective tips

It is a famous saying that the early bird catches the worm, and is there a better chance than this holy month to adopt this sleep routine. But unfortunately, the sleep habits get more messed up than improve during Ramzan. People from different walks of life have different sleep schedules that suit them. Here in this blog, we will put forward some tips to adopt a healthy sleeping schedule.

Establish a consistent sleep routine

Maintaining a consistent sleep schedule can regulate the body's biological clock. Even a consistent bedtime routine can have a positive impact on regulating your sleep. After performing Wudhu, making your bed, and doing some skincare (which is a plus), aim to go to sleep at the same hour daily.

Create a suitable sleep environment

Ensure a conducive sleep environment. A warm bed, comfy pillows, optimal room temperature, dimming the lights, using the toilet, and getting a massage too, if possible, before going to bed. These habits can prevent you from flipping sides in bed to get some sleep.

Avoid disruptions

Avoid anything that disturbs your sleep, such as light and noise. One pro tip is to avoid using screens and loud music before going to sleep. You may use white noise to avoid noise while sleeping.

Practice relaxation techniques

Incorporate relaxation techniques into your bedtime routine to signal to your body that it's time to wind down. This could include deep breathing exercises and gentle stretching. Engaging in these practices can help relax your mind and body, facilitating an easier transition into sleep.

Stay hydrated

Dehydration is the root cause of the majority of problems. As much as it causes fatigue and lethargy, it can also cause terminal insomnia. Keeping your body well-hydrated can help you get a good sleep that will freshen up for the upcoming day.

Eat well

Eat good and nutritious foods that can enhance sleep quality. Avoid any stimulant, such as caffeine or nicotine, around bedtime to avoid sleep delay. Completely cutting down on caffeine may cause headaches, so if it is a part of your normal diet, keep taking it. You are allowed to take your dose of caffeine afterward.

Have enough rest during the day

Last but not least, it covers the loss of sleep during the day. It is Sunnah to take a daytime nap, alias "qayloolah" to stay active for the rest of the day. But make sure that the nap is a good few hours before bedtime to avoid any delays in sleep at night.
